George Vandenberg Memorial Scholarship

The Rocky Mountain Bighorn Society is proud to offer the George Vandenberg Memorial Scholarship, a $5,000 award honoring the life and work of George Vandenberg, a rancher, Navy veteran, and conservationist who played a key role in the reintroduction of bighorn sheep to Colorado’s San Juan Mountains. George was known for his deep knowledge, steady leadership, and lifelong commitment to wildlife conservation, earning the respect of biologists and conservation partners throughout the West. This scholarship supports students pursuing degrees in wildlife sciences who are committed to the conservation and long-term health of bighorn sheep and other wildlife species.
